Current Projects
Lake Road-Clifton Boulevard Corridor Improvements Project
Work continues in both Rocky River and Lakewood. In Rocky River, the contractor is currently working between Linda Street and the bridge over the Rocky River. Recent work has included curb installation on the north side of the project between the ALT Route 6 off-ramp and the Rocky River bridge.
Upcoming work is expected to include partial-depth pavement repairs throughout the project, sewer and water relocation work, and underdrain installation in Rocky River. Additional roadway reconstruction and curb work is also continuing in Lakewood.
Traffic on Lake Road/Clifton Boulevard remains reduced to one lane in each direction between Linda Street in Rocky River and Webb Road in Lakewood. The Marion Ramp from Detroit Avenue to Lake Road/Clifton Boulevard remains closed, along with various sidewalks, crosswalks, and bike lanes within the project limits. Pedestrians and cyclists should continue to follow posted detours.
Construction began in April 2026 and is currently anticipated to continue through September 2027. The project is owned and managed by the Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works.
Drivers are advised to use caution in the construction zone and allow additional travel time when traveling through the corridor.
Center Ridge Gateway Improvement Project
Work on the Center Ridge Gateway Improvement Project continues, with the project now entering its final stages.
Paving has been completed throughout the project corridor, and pavement markings, including lane lines, turn arrows, and other roadway markings, have been installed or are nearing completion.
The new landscaped medians have also been installed, and trees and other landscaping improvements have been planted. The new traffic signal at Goldwood Primary School has been installed; however, the signal is not yet operational.
Remaining work generally consists of traffic signal and light pole work, along with miscellaneous finishing and punch-list items throughout the project area. Motorists may continue to encounter temporary lane restrictions as this work is completed.
The City appreciates the continued patience of residents, businesses, and motorists as the project approaches completion.
Bradstreet’s Landing
The Spencer Creek restoration project at Bradstreet’s Landing will improve stormwater management, reestablish the floodplain, and enhance the existing greenspace with new upland path improvements, additional seating, and interpretive features.
Rocky River City Council has awarded the contract to V3 Companies. The contractor is expected to begin mobilizing to the site in early October, with construction commencing on October 19th.
The auxiliary parking lot, to be constructed on the south side of Lake Road across from the park, remains in the final stages of design and will be coordinated with the upcoming water main, sewer, and roadway resurfacing project.
Glendale, Westmoor, Orchard Grove Sewer/Water/Repaving Project
Work continues on the Glendale, Westmoor, and Orchard Grove Sewer/Water/Repaving Project.
All sanitary and storm sewer mainline and lateral work has now been completed, along with all water main and water service work. The new concrete roadway has been poured on both sides for the full length of the project, with isolated box-out areas remaining where manhole and catch basin castings will be set in concrete.
The contractor is now beginning driveway apron and sidewalk restoration. Once that work is complete, the intermediate course of asphalt will be installed. Manholes and catch basins will then be adjusted to final grade before the final course of asphalt is placed.
Temporary driveway access restrictions will be necessary as driveway apron and sidewalk restoration progresses. Affected property owners will be notified in the field by the contractor or project inspector as this work approaches their property.
Residents should continue to expect daily construction activity throughout the project area as the project moves into its final restoration and paving phases.

Wooster/Parkview Enbridge Gas Main Replacement Project
Enbridge Gas is nearing substantial completion of the Wooster/Parkview gas main replacement project.
The City will conduct a final walkthrough of the project area with Enbridge to review the completed restoration work and identify any remaining landscaping, sidewalk, or surface restoration items that need to be addressed.
Cleveland Water Lead Service Line Replacement (LSLR)
The City is continuing to work with Cleveland Water to identify streets that will be included in the program in 2027 and future years. Once those locations and schedules are confirmed, affected residents will be notified directly with additional information.
Associated restoration work for this year’s work has been completed or substantially completed. The City will continue to coordinate with the Cleveland Water Department to address any remaining landscaping or surface restoration concerns that may arise.
We appreciate residents’ patience and cooperation as this ongoing system-wide replacement program continues.
Lake Road Sewer/Water/Repaving Project
Fabrizi Trucking & Paving Company, Inc. was the low bidder for the Lake Road Sewer/Water/Repaving Project. Rocky River City Council is currently considering award of the contract.
The project includes replacement of the water main from the Bay Village line to Parklawn, sewer reconstruction from Parklawn to the Service Garage drive, and roadway resurfacing throughout the project limits, including new curbs and driveway aprons.
The project also includes a road diet that will reduce the north side of the roadway by approximately five feet to the center line, allowing for construction of an off-street concrete multiuse trail from the Bay Village line to Avalon Drive.
Construction of an auxiliary parking lot across from Bradstreet’s Landing, south of Lake Road, will occur as part of the project. The lot will include 21 parking spaces, one space with room for a trailer, and two signalized pedestrian crossings.
Construction is anticipated to begin in November. During construction, Lake Road will be maintained as one-way traffic from west to east, from the Bay Village line toward Parklawn Drive, for the full length of the project.
Additional traffic and construction information will be communicated as work approaches.

Wooster/Shoreland Park
The Wooster/Shoreland Park project is now substantially complete, and the park is open to the public.
All landscaping, park furnishings, benches, and other site amenities have been installed. The project has transformed the former vacant property along Shoreland Avenue at Wooster Road into a passive neighborhood park for area residents.
The City is coordinating a final walkthrough of the project to identify and address any remaining punch-list or closeout items.
Buckingham, Arundel, Argyle Oval Sewer/Water/Repaving Project
The Buckingham, Arundel, and Argyle Road Improvement Project is now substantially complete.
All sewer, water, roadway, sidewalk, paving, and landscaping work has been completed throughout the project area.
Fabrizi Trucking & Paving Company, Inc. and the City are now addressing final punch-list and project closeout items as needed.
Cornwall/Beachcliff Sewer/Water/Repaving Project
Construction is underway on the Cornwall and Beachcliff Sewer/Water Improvement Project.
The project includes sewer and water line replacement on Cornwall and Beachcliff from Cornwall to Avalon, along with roadway resurfacing, traffic calming measures, pedestrian crossing improvements, and a new sidewalk connection between Avalon and Beachcliff.
Water main work on Cornwall and along the western portion of the Beachcliff project limits is nearing completion. Water service tap work on Cornwall is expected to begin tomorrow. On the western end of the project, the newly installed water main is currently undergoing chlorination and pressure testing.
Sewer construction is also underway within the project area.
Beachcliff Boulevard is currently one-way from west to east between Falmouth and Cornwall. Motorists are asked to be patient, use caution when traveling through the work zone, and follow all posted signs and traffic-control measures.
Traffic patterns may change as construction progresses and as needed to accommodate different phases of work. Drivers should remain alert for temporary changes throughout the project area.
Rockcliff Area Infrastructure Improvements
Rocky River City Council has awarded the Rockcliff Drive Sewer/Water/Roadway Improvement Project to DiGioia Suburban Excavating, with contractor mobilization anticipated during the first week of October.
The project will include replacement of the water main, installation of new sanitary and storm sewers and service laterals, full pavement reconstruction, curb and driveway apron replacement, limited sidewalk replacement where necessary, and construction of a mid-block raised pedestrian crossing connecting to the Cleveland Metroparks trail.
In advance of construction, the City continues to coordinate several items necessary for the project to move forward. This includes coordination with Cleveland Water regarding revisions near the dead-end portion of Rockcliff Drive, as well as securing required access through Cleveland Metroparks while a permanent easement is finalized.
Once construction begins, residents should expect regular construction activity, temporary access restrictions, and changing traffic conditions within the project area. The contractor and project inspector will communicate directly with affected residents when work may temporarily impact driveway access or other property access.
The City will continue to provide updates as the project progresses and as the construction schedule becomes more defined.

Future Projects
Eldorado/Story Road Culvert Project
Rocky River City Council has awarded a culvert improvement project near Eldorado and Story Road to Schirmer Construction.
The work will take place within the streambank and is not expected to significantly impact traffic in the area.
The City is coordinating with the City of Fairview Park as preparations for construction move forward. Additional information will be provided as the construction schedule is finalized.
Westway/I90/Hilliard Intersection
The City continues to evaluate potential improvements to the Hilliard Boulevard/Westway Drive intersection near the I-90 ramps. The goal of the project is to improve safety, traffic operations, pedestrian crossings, and neighborhood connectivity.
Information regarding the project and the improvement concepts under consideration remains available on the City’s Public Works page. Residents are encouraged to review the available materials and provide feedback as the City continues evaluating the proposed improvements.

Beaconsfield Boulevard Sewer Rehabilitation and Roadway Reconstruction Project
The City has begun design work for a comprehensive sewer and roadway reconstruction project along both sides of Beaconsfield Boulevard from Wagar Road to Morewood Parkway. Following a review of proposals from several engineering firms, the City selected OHM Advisors to complete the project design.
Much of the sanitary and storm sewer infrastructure within the corridor is approaching or exceeding 100 years in age. Portions of the existing system also include older “over/under” sewer configurations, where sanitary and storm sewers were constructed within the same trench.
The planned project will include replacement and separation of sanitary and storm sewers, sewer capacity improvements, replacement of service laterals to the public right-of-way, coordination with the Cleveland Division of Water for water main replacement, and full roadway reconstruction. Improvements are also expected to include new pavement, curbs, driveway aprons, necessary sidewalk replacement, and associated restoration.
The project is currently in the engineering and design phase, with construction anticipated in late 2027 into 2028.
Additional information will be provided as design progresses and the scope and construction schedule are further developed.
Northview/Jameston Water Main and Pavement Improvement Project
A Public Information Meeting for the upcoming Northview/Jameston Water Main and Pavement Improvement Project will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in City Council Chambers at Rocky River City Hall. Residents are encouraged to attend to learn more about the project, review preliminary plans, ask questions, and provide feedback.
Construction is anticipated to begin in 2027 and will include water main and pavement improvements on Northview Road and Jameston Drive.
As part of the project, the City is also evaluating traffic calming improvements on Northview Road. Preliminary concepts include options such as chicanes and speed tables, which are currently being reviewed and refined with the City’s consulting engineer.
Public input will help inform the design as the project continues to develop. Additional information will be provided as plans are finalized and the project moves closer to construction.
Addington Road Storm Sewer Replacement Project
The City is preparing to advertise for bids for the replacement of a section of the existing 96-inch storm sewer on Addington Road near Kings Mill Run, extending west from that area.
The project will replace a deteriorated section of this large storm sewer and is being advanced to address the condition of the existing infrastructure.
