Rocky River Police Department
About Our Department
The Rocky River Division of Police consists of thirty-four sworn, full-time officers, including a chief, three lieutenants, four sergeants, three detectives, school resource officers, support staff, and up to fifteen non-sworn auxiliary officers.
We are members of the Westshore Enforcement Bureau, a group of six cities that pool resources for a SWAT team, hazardous devices unit, narcotics task force, and mobile field force. We also have bike patrol units and a marine patrol. We strive to be a community oriented police department, and offer several programs designed to accomplish that goal, including an annual Citizen Police Academy, School Resource Officers, Bicycle Patrol, Marine Patrol, Safety Town, and more.
