We are happy to assist you with life’s transitions, home health care, affordable housing, Social Security, and Medicare to name a few.

Current Free Social Service Programs Offered

  • Blood Pressure Screenings are offered on Mondays from 10 am - 12 pm.

  • A free home-calling service for RR residents offering a daily automated call to check-in. Contact Mary Hildebrandt 440-333-6664 for more info.

  • An on-site food pantry to assist RR residents with an emergency food need. Contact Mary 440-333-6664 to inquire.

  • Meet new friends! Come to Lunch & stay for the movie!

    First Friday of each month from 11:30 am - 1 pm

  • If you are rehabbing at home after surgery or need extra support for a limited time, consider borrowing equipment from us! Rocky River residents can call Mary for more information.

  • Hearing checks will be once a month on Thursdays from 2 pm - 4 pm.

  • MEDICARE COUNSELING FREE

    If you have Medicare questions, we have two resources available for you.

    You may call the OSHIIP call center in Columbus at 1-800-686-1578.

    You may schedule an appointment with Donna D’Amico who is a licensed agent with Kaz Company and is available for individual appointments onsite. To schedule an appointment with Donna from KAZ, please call Rocky River Senior Center at 440-333-6660.

  • Join our Therapy Dog, Tanner on Tuesdays & Fridays for petting, kissing, & lowering blood pleasures!

  • Rocky River Fire Department has partnered with ACE hardware to sell Roper wall mount and over-the-door lock boxes at cost to the public. Lock boxes sold at the Rocky River ACE Hardware are keyed specifically for the RRFD Master key. These lock boxes are proven to save valuable time in an emergency. For more information please call the Rocky River Fire Prevention office at 440-895-2589.

  • Our Reach volunteers are here and looking to talk to you! If you, or perhaps someone in your neighborhood would enjoy conversing with a peer, please call 440-462-1160. Leave a message. One of our volunteers will return your call.

  • LEAF RAKING A one time fall leaf clean-up is available to Rocky River homeowners who are 70 or older. Leaves will be raked by local scouting troops, students, and athletic teams usually sometime in late November. Generous volunteers in our community provide this service to you at no charge. Sign up ends September 30th. Based on availability.  Must register each year!

  • APRON SNOW PLOWING The snow removal program is for the driveway apron only, to remove snow that has been displaced from the street when the streets are plowed. Snow will only be removed if at least 3”of snow has fallen and after the city snow plows have cleared all city streets. Homeowners  are responsible for clearing their driveways and sidewalks. The Senior Center maintains a list of individuals if you need to hire someone. Sign up ends November 30th.

    To be considered for either program please call Mary at   440-333-6664. You must sign up annually. Please provide the homeowner’s full name, address, phone number and email address if applicable.
