Join us on September 13, 2026, from 1:00–4:00 PM at Rocky River City Hall Park as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday with a special afternoon of history, music, fun, and hometown pride.
We’re bringing the Rocky River community together for an old-fashioned picnic and patriotic celebration—and we want everyone to be part of it! Come enjoy an afternoon of music, activities, history, and fun while celebrating the people, places, and traditions that make Rocky River such a special community.
There will be plenty of ways to get involved, connect with your neighbors, and share your Rocky River spirit. Local businesses, organizations, schools, and community groups are invited to contribute activities, entertainment, displays, or creative ideas.
Together, let’s celebrate America’s 250th birthday and make it a day to remember for Rocky River!
Schedule of events:
1:00 pm: Picnic begins with DJ Kris Koch, continues between performances throughout the afternoon.
1:15 to 1:45 pm: Rocky River High School Marching Band marches into the park, plays patriotic music.
1:45- 2:00 pm: Official program:
Introductions and acknowledgements with honorary chair, Donna Congeni Fitzsimmons.
Announcement of Essay/Art Contest winners by Roberta Trutko.
2:00 to 2:30 pm: Tower City Chorus Barbershop Quartet performance.
2:30 to 3:15 pm: Children’s program with Jungle Terry up-close animal encounters.
3:15 to 4:00 pm: Kris Koch entertains with music, trivia, giveaways, and more!
4:00 pm: Program concludes.

Friday, May 22 at City Hall Park Gazebo Located at 21012 Hillard Blvd beginning at 6:00 p.m., the Rocky River High School Jazz Band will be performing. Bring a lawn chair and come enjoy the kick-off of the Summer Concert Series.

Rocky River Summer Nights: June Event

The Rocky River Summer Nights event series kicks off this Sunday, June 22nd from 1:00-8:00pm! This family friendly event features an outdoor pool party (admission pricing and policies apply), CLE Market vendors, Hilliard Hustle 5K & Kids Sprint, a live concert featuring Perfect Choice & more! All events take place at Rocky River City Hall Park at 21012 Hilliard Blvd.
Westbound Hilliard Blvd. at Wagar Road will be closed 5:30–7pm; no street parking on Hilliard, Country Club, or Devin Hill from 4–7pm. There will be limited parking at City Hall; overflow parking will be available at Magnificat High School.

Public Meeting
Public Meeting on February 10, 6:30 to 7:00 pm in Council Chambers.
Planning and Community Development Director Kathryn Kerber will present information and collect input about a new trail at a public meetings listed below. The trail will be behind the Senior Center, connecting the trail behind the Rec Center to Wagar Road. If you are unable to attend but would like to learn more or provide input, please contact Director Kerber at kkerber@rrcity.com or 440-895-2598.
Monday, February 10 at 6:30pm, just prior to the 7:00 City Council meeting at City Hall.
Thursday, February 13 at 7:45am at the Parks and Recreation Commission meeting at City Hall.
Wednesday, February 19 at 9:00am at the Senior Council meeting at the Senior Center.
Rocky River Holiday Fest
Join us for a day of Holiday Cheer! We’ll be kicking off the season with a parade through downtown! You can stroll the streets of Rocky River and visit our many shops. The evening will conclude with the annual tree lighting (NEW LOCATION!) and family street dance on Old Detroit.
