Chief Wagner Memorial Service
On January 5, 2025, Rocky River Police Chief Donald Wagner passed away. Chief Wagner served the City of Rocky River for 45 years, retiring in 2011.
On Saturday, June 28, 2025, there will be a Memorial Procession through Rocky River honoring Chief Wagner's service to our community.
The procession will begin at Rocky River Police Station at 9:15 a.m. and end at the Lakewood Park Cemetery, making several pauses at places with special meaning throughout Chief Wagner's life.

Brief pause at 1228 Smith Ct., the location of Chief Wagner’s childhood home.

South Kensington to Lake Rd.
Lake Rd. e/b to N. Marginal to Wooster Rd.
Wooster Rd. s/b to Center Ridge Rd.
Center Ridge Rd. w/b to Horseshoe.
Brief pause at St. Demetrios Church.
Horseshoe n/b to Hilliard Blvd.
Hilliard Blvd. e/b to Wagar Rd.
Wagar Rd. n/b to Detroit Rd.
Pause at RRPD; final salute.

Private interment at Lakewood Park cemetery for family and Law Enforcement personnel
Family, active law enforcement personnel (including auxiliary personnel) in marked police vehicles, retired law enforcement personnel who served with Chief Wagner, and active Rocky River Fire personnel are welcome to participate in the processional.
Others who wish to pay respects to Chief Wagner's service to the Rocky River community are encouraged to stand along the route of the procession, particularly in the areas where there will be pauses (1228 Smith Ct., St. Demetrios Church, and the Rocky River Police Station).
