Flag Day Ceremony
The City of Rocky River invites you to join us on Saturday, June 14th, at 9:00 a.m. in front of City Hall, located at 21012 Hillard Blvd, to commemorate Flag Day, a day dedicated to honoring our national flag. This holiday marks the anniversary of the approval of the first official design of the United States flag in 1777, during the Revolutionary War.
The ceremony will be lead by the singing of the National Anthem by Rocky River’s own, Aria Sova. The Pledge of Allegiance and color guard will be led by the Scouting of America local Troop 194.
This year, Lakewood Park Cemetery has generously provided American flags for residents to pick up, at no cost to display on Flag Day. The Honor Flags were previously placed in recognition of veterans’ service to our country. The flags can be picked up at several locations including Memorial Hall, Rocky River Senior Center, Rocky River Recreation Department and the Rocky River Police Station.
As we celebrate this important date, we encourage all residents of Rocky River to fly our nation’s flag as a symbol of our freedom.
