4th of July Weekend & Summer of Fun
July 4, 2026
Dear Rocky River Residents,
As we celebrate Independence Day, we join communities across our nation in commemorating a truly remarkable milestone—the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.
For 250 years, generations of Americans have worked to build a nation founded on freedom, opportunity, and self-government. Their sacrifices, courage, and commitment have made it possible for us to enjoy the blessings of liberty today.
This anniversary is also an opportunity to reflect on the role communities like Rocky River play in America's story. Our city embodies the values that have sustained our nation for two and a half centuries: neighbor helping neighbor, volunteerism, civic engagement, respect for one another, and a shared commitment to the common good.
Whether you are gathering with family and friends, attending community celebrations, or enjoying the beauty of our lakefront and neighborhoods, we are reminded that strong communities are the foundation of a strong nation.
We invite you to join us as we celebrate America 250. Here is a list of events that are happening in the City of Rocky River:

We are pleased to announce that once again, Lakewood Park Cemetery has generously provided American flags for residents to display. These flags were previously placed in veterans’ graves in recognition of their service to our country. These Honor Flags are free and can be picked up at several locations including Rocky River City Hall, Rocky River Senior Center, and the Rocky River Recreation Department.
Just as a reminder, refuse will be picked up this week on the regularly scheduled days.
As we mark this historic anniversary, may we honor the past, celebrate the present, and embrace our responsibility to leave an even stronger Rocky River for future generations – a community that our children and grandchildren will be proud to call home.
On behalf of the administration, City Council and our dedicated employees serving the City of Rocky River, I wish you and your family a safe, joyful, and memorable Fourth of July.
Happy Independence Day,
Mayor Pam Bobst
